It was with issue 17: water in 2007 that On Site went substantial: increased dimensions, double the pages, perfect bound, full colour. It also doubled the number of articles and contributors, sometimes more than 30 pieces. We couldn’t have gone there directly, all this was based on lessons learned in the first 16 issues which were smaller, slimmer, saddle stitched and rarely with colour other than the cover. Our contributor base was now huge; many well-known names in Canadian and international architecture published their first pieces with us, often still as students or just newly graduated, and that makes us very proud.
